2021 Salary Survey

2021 Salary Survey

Update: You can find the raw data from hundreds of submissions here. Please contribute and share so we can keep this thing growing!

A few years ago, someone sent me a spreadsheet that had anonymous salary and other compensation data aggregated from hundreds of companies across ~15 different exec roles. The data in the sheet was sourced from a few dozen VC funds and the results were limited to those lucky enough to be a part of their portfolios or get sent the spreadsheet (like me!)

I’ve struggled in the past with both knowing how much I should get paid for my role, given company stage, size, funding, and revenue, as well as how much to pay people for their role at my companies.

I never found Glassdoor or Levels useful for the size companies I was working with – instead, the only source of data that came to close to feeling like ‘truth’ was on the app Blind. The problem is that it’s not easy to analyze and pull salary insights out of the app – you’re stuck searching for posts and digging through comments.

So, today I had the crazy idea of putting together this blog post with the below form which lets people share their compensation packages and company details 100% anonymously. after enough responses, I’ll make it publicly available to the internet.

If you work in the tech industry, I’d love for you to contribute. The below form should take only a couple of minutes. My hope is this data gets used for employees to negotiate better, determine if they are underpaid, and for companies to pair their employees more fairly.

If you’re reading this on mobile and want to fill out the survey, follow this link, Airtable embeds aren’t great on small devices:
